Where are you based and how would you describe your work? We’re based in NYC. Our work is layered, emotive, and as a recent client put it, “a little bit cheeky.” As a team of two lead photographers, each with a distinct eye and creative instinct, we bring our individual strengths together seamlessly. It allows us to create not just a highlight reel, but a full and thoughtful story of every event we photograph.
Name top three influences in your work. Inspiration comes at all times, everywhere. We are constantly observing art and life, and if something moves us, it often makes its way into our work.
If we had to name three influences: the composition of great TV and film, the rawness of street photography, and most importantly our couples. Our biggest inspiration will always be our clients. Our style is distinctive, but the story we tell is always shaped by who they are and how they love.
Oh! And we can’t forget New York City– she’s an endless supply of fashion, art, and great parties.
Does wedding photography fit into a specific genre or is it its own genre? Wedding photography pulls from so many genres: editorial, documentary, portraiture, still life...it’s an impressive mix that you don’t see anywhere else. For us, it’s storytelling that blends the vibe of editorial with the truth of documentary. It should be imagery fit for both an art book and an heirloom photo album.
What do you see coming next in wedding video/photo trends or influences? It’s exciting to see space opening up for more variety in the imagery we create. There's still love for the beautifully composed, fashion-forward editorial shot, but it’s being balanced with more emotive and unfiltered imagery that has a documentary feel. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. The contrast is what makes it compelling. A celebration is both beautiful and chaotic, and our work reflects the full spectrum. The final result should be a visual feast!
Top travel tips? Over-packing isn’t a flaw. Let your checked bag live a little!
Favorite locations to work in? The South of France is an all time favorite, but anywhere that brings the dinner party x dance party vibes must be the place.
Work pet peeve? We don’t kiss and tell. The internet never forgets ;)
Bucket list place to work? Paris, Mexico City, and Kyoto. All tied for our second favorite cities in the world after our home sweet NYC.
Talk about one of the most fun shoots you have ever done and why was it such good soul food? It’s hard to choose just one, but the shoots that feed our souls always have the same kind of magic: people who show up fully, unapologetically themselves, and trust us to do what we do. The kind of weekend filled with big-hearted lovers, dance floor legends, and an energy that leaves us joyfully wiped out…that’s the good stuff.
One of our favorite weddings has to be the time our couple took twenty of their best friends — and us — to the South of France for a full chateau weekend. On the wedding day, we ran a little late because the bride was having a blast trying on multiple dresses with her bridesmaids, but honestly, no one cared…we had nowhere to be. After a quick and heartfelt ceremony, there was a dinner under the Mediterranean stars, hours of dancing, and even a late-night dip in the pool. It was easy, breezy, and joyful from start to finish. We wish they’d get married every year.
Anything else we should know? We do have a fun backstory.
We met as dancers; we loved the same ballet teacher in the city and frequently found ourselves in class together. Kim has shared the stage with Beyoncé and Snoop Dogg, and she performed at The Box NYC for years. Travis danced across Europe with the Lucinda Childs Dance Company and performed with The Metropolitan Opera.
Our background in dance keeps us tuned into movement, and the instinct to anticipate split-second moments shapes how we shoot. It’s also taught us to stay grounded and adaptable. Weddings can be wonderfully unpredictable, but we’re well-practiced at adjusting on the fly and going with the flow. For us, it’s just as much about the experience as it is about the imagery we create.
